If you have travelled to the UK from mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau in the last 14 days and are experiencing cough or fever or shortness of breath - stay indoors, phone us on 0141 800 0840 or, if the practice is closed, phone NHS 24 on 111 informing them of your symptoms and your recent travel.  DO NOT LEAVE HOME UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN ADVICE BY A CLINICIAN.

Changes to the Benefits System

Due to the recent changes in the benefits system, the practice has been receiving requests for medical reports to support applications and appeals for Additional Room Allowance and other benefits.  We can, however, refer you to the Citizens' Advice Bureau for assistance from one of their Money Advice Workers.

We regret that we are unable to comply with such requests ourselves as they would create an unmanageable workload for our doctors, adding to an already high volume of paperwork and reducing the amount of time they are available to spend with patients.

The NHS does not fund practices for providing medical reports to Local Authorities, and Glasgow City Council is not offering a fee for these reports.

It is important for all concerned to understand that GPs are not always best placed to provide the information that is required.  Other sources, such as the patients themselves, can provide the necessary information more easily.

We trust therefore that you will understand the reasons why we cannot comply with these requests.

We believe it is more important for doctors to be available to see and speak to their patients.
