Our appointments system has been designed to help you to be seen at the best time for you and to ensure that you see a GP more quickly.
By reducing the number of pre bookable appointments, we hope to reduce the amount of time that is wasted by patients who do not attend or who fail to cancel their appointments in time for them to be offered to someone else.
Same Day Appointments
If you need to see a doctor, please phone the practice before 8.30am. You will either be given an appointment to be seen that day, offered a phone call back from a GP, or you will be signposted to a more appropriate health professional for your needs.
You may book an appointment with the GP up to 2 weeks in advance and with the Practice Nurse or Health Care Support Worker up to 3 weeks in advance.
We aim to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice within 5 working days and with any doctor within 2 working days.
We aim to give you an appointment with the Practice Nurse or Health Care Assistant within 5 working days.
What is wrong with you?
When you phone the practice, the reception team will ask you for the reason for making an appointment. They have been trained to gather certain information from patients in order to ensure that you receive the most appropriate medical care, from the most appropriate health professional, at the most appropriate time.
You may choose not to disclose this information but it is helpful if you because it helps us to help you in the best possible way. Please be assured that any information you provide will be treated in strict confidentiality.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Surgeries are busy but the GPs do their best to run to time. It is therefore very important that you come to your appointment on time. If you are late, the GP may not be able to see you.
